This 2013 $20 pure silver coloured coin is the latest addition to the Royal Canadian Mint’s highly sought-after wildflower series. Previous releases have quickly sold out, often fetching higher prices in the secondary market. This coin weighs over one full ounce and is crafted from pure silver. With a limited mintage of just 10,000 coins, it is an essential addition for both collectors and investors.
The Design:
The reverse features a captivating image by Canadian artist Celia Godkin, showcasing the elegant bloom of a Blue Flag Iris. The inner petals are a soft mauve-blue that arch upward, while the delicately patterned outer petals gracefully bow down. Each visible sepal is dark-veined indigo with a soft blue pattern and is adorned with a sparkling Swarovski crystal ‘dew drop’. This stunning flower is perched upon a vibrant green stem, with a closed bud delicately positioned beneath.
